vit roof console

hey guys, i am in a rut of building a roof console for my uhf and maps. i am going to the cape in july so i want to get it done but i have tried a few different ways and cant get a good design.. was wondering if anyone has made one and could you post up pics and any info would be much appreciated... oh its a short wheel base hard top vit if that helps..

As for the console I made mine out of ply and it is bolted up tp the Visor brackets and the visors are now undewr the console.
Also  fitted 2 angle brackets to the 2 outside corners as seen on the LH side of the Pic. Whet to the dump and scored a big dash mat and cut it up to cover it with. Also a good idea for storing the pens and pencils is to det some thin rubber or carpet sew on some elestic and then sew across it to hold them in and then sew some velcro ( Hook )  on the other side and it will stick to the roof and you always have something to write with USE pencils not pens they dry out with the heat.

thanks for your help westie!!! just wondering are those front brackets mounted to where the handle goes or straight into the roof?
