Gooldins Adventures
« on: October 14, 2011, 01:50:16 PM »
Hey guys,

I've just purchased a 2005 (new shape) GV. It's stock standard, but hopefully over the next year that will change!

My main question is, do ARB do a bullbar for this model? When I go on the website it only has them for 2008 onwards! Aint these the same car?

Cheers,

Kev

Very nice...looks identical to mine.

Can't help you on the ARB question. The best thing to do is give them a ring and the rep should be able to answer your question.

I've send you a PM. Please check your inbox.

good to see zukes of all types getting on here

The ARB pt # is 3426050 .. A combination winch Bar that will suit a 6000/8000 Lb winch.
Will fit this model.

hey guys!

Car is going great! LOVE it!

I've since added Original Suzuki Cruise Control, upgraded to the 2010 suzuki stereo as it has ipod integration (and the old one wasnt working properly). And just last night I've sprayed the underbody with 3 cans of "Wattyl killrust Fisholine"!

Last weekend we had it out at the GLasshouse mountains and had a ball. Figured out what i need next - underbody protection!

This Sunday we are going to take it up to Noosa Northshore to DI Point! It's supposed to be nice up there, and hopefully we get the tides right! high tide is about 3 so hopefully we'll ba able to drive back around 12pm, or 5:30pm to make it a longer day!

I've just ordered the ARB bar, won't be in till december and seen as I'm flying home for christmas I wont have it on till January - CANT WAIT  .applaud. .applaud. .applaud.

wooooo hooo, missed this thread.

is it a manual or an auto? how many KM? Does yours have a slight buzz/rattle at about 1800rpm? I think ours has a dodgy exhaust baffle somewhere that I can't find.

how did it go at glasshouse?.. Kim still wont let me take ours on anything rougher than a farm track...

Are you servicing yours at the 15000k service interval? or shortening the intervals? in ours after about 10,000k the timing chain adjuster just starts to get the (in)famous H series rattle, so have been changing oils at 10,000k.

Noosa north shore on Sunday was fun!

The weather was perfect!

Got bogged twice which was fun! It was the tow bar that bogged me, and probably due to the fact that there were 5 of us in the car along with all our fishing gear etc! And the fact that I didn't bother to let the air out of the tires just to see how I'd go without doing so!  ;D Surprisingly enough it wasnt when entering / exiting the beach - It happened near DI point! The good thing about having 5 in the car was that there were 4 ppl to push me out haha!  .applaud. .applaud. Saw a few other GV's on the beach too. As I entered the beach there was one GV bogged just to the left of me. If I stopped to offer help I too would have been bogged so I kept going, saw them soon after so they got out pretty quick!

Check out the pics :)

Yeh I'm very happy with the spray job! The colour matches perfectly! .applaud. .applaud.

Black works on some colours, but I dont think it would have worked as well on this!

Yep.

You put on the back of the bull bar to stop the lights reflecting.

Black sticker stuff

From any bullbar store and some auto parts / supply stores. Comes in a roll.

Hey guys,

it's been a while since ive updated! So I got the lift on eventually after a couple of hickups....using a scisor jack and it popping out from under the car being one of them!  :-[

I called by Tim's one day I was passing to get a few pics outside....He had just fitted 3"to the front, and 4" to the back on an earlier GV so we compared! My one is actually sitting at 2.6" on the front, and 1.8" on the back! There are heavier springs on the front to take the bar and a possible future winch. So I guess if I put a winch on it that would all even out!

Fitted the bash plates too, had to get Tim to change one of the brackets as it wouldnt fit, but it's all good now! They've been used a few times since too....as I'm sure you'll all remember from the last non members run in Glasshouse  :-[ :-[

I took a few extra days off at the long weekend and headed out to the girlfriends farm for the weekend! It's a good 9 hours drive west of Brisbane! 1.5hrs past Mitchell on the dirt...it's an amazing place!

It was Pip's birthday, and we made a cake and left it outside to cool off....till the pet kangaroo got to it....wooooops!

I bought them an industrial mincer.....so we had to test it out! They were amazing!

How many men does it take to light a fire???

then we decided to test out the cars....

Really need some A/T's!!

I got stuck here....possibly the tow bar again!
